Karl Beattie (born in Beaumont Leys, Leicester on 25 December 1967) is an outspoken broadcaster, pundit and the husband of Yvette Fielding, main presenter Living TV's now defunct Most Haunted and Most Haunted Live, programmes which investigated psychic and paranormal phenomena. Beattie and Fielding co-own Antix Productions, the TV Production Company that produced Most Haunted.[1]
In 2004, Beattie was the subject of media attention when he claimed to be[2] the only living samurai outside of Japan, as one of only eight foreigners to have ever been awarded the title, however this is disputed by martial arts enthusiasts.[3] The samurai class was officially abolished in 1868 and has never been revived.[4][5]
Beattie later claimed on his Facebook page that it was simply a joke and that he did not anticipate that anyone would take him seriously.
Beattie first met Yvette Fielding while she was working as a presenter on long running CBBC show Blue Peter, he worked as a camera man there.
